With any HD camcoder you can do fast movement with your camera. 3CCD or CMOS. DSLR or camera.
Think, i had a panasonic sd9 which record in HD mode and 3CCD, well i counldn't did fast panning scenes! And the camera alerts you too about it, that you can't to do that. So which difference in have a DSRL with a superb IQ, slow motion etc, in front to have a primary camcoder that i cannont do fast movement? Just the size for me.
The difference between CCD and CMOS sensors are night and day. CMOS sensors scan basically scan the image from top to bottom, this is why you get the "jellow" effect when you pan. If you have ever worked with a CCD camera, you don't get this result at all. This is why HD CCD cameras are still mostly used for professional productions.
I used FCP. The 7d is great. I wouldn't recommend it as a primary camera though. It's best for shooting dialogue, or shots with little movement. 60p is great too.

Why you not recommend it as a primary camcorder? I had a HD camcorder and never did footage like the 7D can do.

Just because of some minor rolling shutter issues if you are shooting a sequence with fast camera movement.

Haha! I like this. What did you use to edit the video? What are your opinions of the 7D?
