WSC Promotes Development through Sport

Sport is a powerful tool that can be used to promote social development in at-risk and under-served communities. Recognizing this during its efforts in bidding for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Chicago 2016 helped to establish World Sport Chicago as a legacy that would continue on even after the Bid efforts had ended.

World Sport Chicago's programs have developed to build awareness of sport options and opportunities in Chicago and have supported community-based organizations to deliver tangible social improvements through sport. In this video, see how a few of these groups have partnered with World Sport Chicago to promote the Olympic and Paralympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect and what these lessons mean for the youth that participate in these programs.
