@goliath405 Thanks -- I bought the camera and Vegas handles it the T1i files just fine. I've purchased a few options like a viewfinder with diopter, and rifle-like shooting mount for hand held. Shot a documentary in Haiti a month ago and a NASCAR race yesterday. Also noted that FOX Sports was experiment with DSLR acquisition using a 5D with lots of Zacuto accessories.

@FilmLou not quite sure what you mean by digitize to your hard drive. But Sony Vegas should be able to handle the files that the T1i produces. It shoots in H.246/MPEG-4 format.

Does the T1i allow you to digitize to your hard drive and edit using a program like Sony Vegas 10.0? What is the file that the camera produces?

When the camera focuses, does it make any sound? Please respond, this is the only thing holding me back from getting this camera.

@kbproductions19 That depends on your lens. If you have automatic focus enabled while you shoot, and your lens has a noisy focus motor, you will get noise. A lens with an ultrasonic ring motor should make little to no noise. Also, if you're going to be using it for a lot of video, consider the T2i. It has much better video capabilities.
