This is the complete Q&BA session I did on Google+ Hangouts on January 22, 2012. I answered questions from viewers about Mars Curiosity, comets, dark matter, dark energy, and more.

  • This was awesome! Especially for those who would like to study Astronomy but can't study because well there isn't as much money involved (Especially in Australia -_-). I am a little disappointed about some of the criticism, yes this isn't edited but seriously Phil is taking his own time to answer your questions and you should appreciate that!

I have one question for you; what scientist (Of any field) from history would you most like to meet and pick their brain?

  • Suggestion from YouTube uploader of educational information - Phil, I love the whole idea of this show. Next time, though, I strongly recommend you get straight to the Q&A, and leave out intros, at least on these uploaded videos. Also, if you can, edit out any delays between questions. It's safe to assume that everyone knows who you are and why you are here. For that vast majority of viewers, intros, announcements, etc. are a waste of time.

  • Could someone please post when these happen in a permanent location, and how to view them live? I can't figure it out.

  • I would like to interview you for my internet radio talk-show. Would you be available anytime tonight from 8-10PM EST? Thanks for looking. Francis 03/02/2012

  • The only problem with having learning experiences when dealing with colonizing the moon is that it could cost lives.

  • Can has on iTunes like your old Q&BA series? kthxbai. =^..^=

  • Hey, i'm from Romania too.... Vasile's name, Botezat, it's not slavic... it's 100% romanian :) it means "one that has been baptised"...

  • "Clocks should be metric."

Maybe (if Zubrin's plan comes to fruition) for base near the Martian equator, 25:00 would be around the time of sunrise, 50:00 would be noon, and 75:00 would be around the time of sunset.

  • @Pygar2 I was using the derogatory term used by TBA and used to label those who rely on facts and evidence as opposed to cooked books and psuedo science, bullying, indoctrination and repetition to snowjob the long suffering public. This has to be pointed out wherever it rears it's head now - anyone who uses this label have shown themselves not to be scientific but enablers and propagandists - I thought ths guy might have been above it but the rot is as deep as the public purse.

  • I love these videos! You are one of my idols for understanding the world. I am around people all the time that I have to "correct" because their baseless claims on how the universe works drives me insane! Its good to know there are people like you in the world.

  • @Srekwah I would prefer to see the word "deniers" kept to its original meaning- people who refuse to believe evidence available to them. Using it for AGW in which the original, uncooked data is invariably "lost", not made available, kept away even by ignoring legit FOIA filings... is simply an inaccurate use of the term "denier". Remember, Climategate is as much a conspiracy to deny data sharing as it is to deny access to publication, and sources not paid for by LeftGov.
