This is my "Scooby Doo" Four Star 60 radio control airplane. I did the "Scooby" theme because I knew my kids would love it. Its covered with three different colors of neon Ultracote. Really shows up in the sky! And, on a cloudy day even more so. At dusk, I can get a flight in after others have had to land. It's that bright! The Sig kit was laser cut and an absolute pleasure to build. Nothing hard to do, and the airframe is a baseball bat in terms of strength. I only added some thick balsa to the nose around the engine to help absorb vibration. Power is a trusty O.S. .60 FSR. This was the hot pattern engine back in the 80's. Still has plenty of power for this plane. A four stroke would be dandy too, but I had the .60 and it needed a home. Video taken at the Screaming Eagles R/C field in Plainfield, Indiana. I'm putting it on floats soon!

  • Last I knew, yes, they were still available. Check Tower Hobbies to see. Then, buy it from your LOCAL hobby shop first if you can! If not, Tower will take good care of you.

  • where'd you get the scooby doo pilot?

  • @TheHellcat60 The pilot is the top off a kids shampoo bottle! Yep, if you look close, there's a HOLE in the top of Scooby's head! LOL

  • is it an ARF or a kit

  • @aaronthegreat1997 An ARF??? Bite your tongue! LOL, no its kit built. Actually, this is one of Sig's laser cut kits. Incredible quality. For a guy that has built kits since the 1970's that were "die-crunched" as we used to call it, this kit was a real pleasure to build.

  • what kind of airfoil is on that

  • @aaronthegreat1997 Semi-symmetrical. The bottom is flatter than the top.

  • Try your four star with a larger engine like a .91 magnum excell, and watch it fly endless vertical, and almost fully aerobatic.
