  • @93MickyD2 just ignore the kids....ebert is an easy target for them....hopefully they grow up one day and realize its ok to think for yourself instead of making fun of others to amuse others......I see this alot on any ebert related video

  • What's with all the Ebert hate? He's a serious film scholar, read his "Great Movies" books. In film school I remember the kids who claimed they "never read critics" produced pure bullshit.

  • @orphan2000 and you look like him too!

  • I LOVE YOU EBERT

  • why both would rate this movie bad -- great movie , one of Stephen Kings best ...

  • @AndrewMann552 he can make such bad calls sometimes, frankly i dont understand why he's so famous

  • @Methrt3 It was nominated.

  • Did this movie win best picture Oscar or was even nominated? I don't remember.

  • Umm, Eshits Eberts best screenplay was cheap smut called "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls".He could not write movies but trashes others work

  • @AndrewMann552 A lot of bitter jackass fans getting back at Ebert for making a comment, admittedly tasteless, about the death of Ryan Dunn. Still, the legion of losers who idolize a group of douchebags have no right to denigrate someone who has accomplished more is his cancer stricken life than they ever will....

  • It's not a prison movie. That is the backdrop that spans 20 years.

  • @BrokenClouds89 its a movie about prison...its not supposed to be campy happy fun fast going with elvis singing jailhouse rock lol

  • It's a turd. it's Ebert

  • People still care about Ryan Dunn?

  • @93MickyD2 Shit is you.,A loser who hangs by the word of this deformed sleazebag on which movie to see,

  • @93MickyD2 EBERT=UGLY

    FANS=LOSERS

  • @TheBitchinbabs IS it the cancer...or 'another' reason.

  • @Jorrietheman "Few fans"? Ebert has many, many fans. He has become one of the most reverred film critics over the decades. Know your shit before you attempt to insult someone.

  • @twotonguestalking713 because of fuckin forrest gump, it would have won all the academy awards it deserved

  • It's such a shame that this film didn't do as well as it deserved at the box office. So glad after that, the film went on to be one of the most celebrated movies of all time. Brilliant film.

  • @CubbieBear1980 Shawshank is a slow and depressing film, but the final few lines make that all irrelevant.

    :O)

  • Why all Siskel & Ebert video's on youtube have comments about Ryan Dunns death? It's really fucking anoying. People get over it, Dunn didn't die because of Ebert. I know Eberts reaction was unsentimental but just stop it!

  • looks great rated 9.2 out of 10 highest rated movie in IMDB

  • I swear Shawshank Redemption has got to be the BEST 'slow&depressing' movie ever! I SWEAR its the best 'slowand DEPRESSING' film EVER that actually can drag ou in for repeat reviews! I would compare it to Driving Miss Daisy, the only big differnce being that with the latter only the second hour (or so give or take a few mins) the second HALF but basically the same thing. And you know what else the two errily have in common? They BOTH can be mistaken as TRUE stories. Who agrees? Thumbs up guys?

  • its one of the best movies of the year..fuck that..its one of the best movies ever
