Johnson says his jaw dropped when he read one of the reasons American Express gave for lowering his credit limit: "Other customers who have used their card at establishments where you recently shopped have a poor repayment history with American Express."

  • It's been 2 & a half years since this report aired. I wonder if AMEX is still doing this? I just got a AMEX Blue card too. I guess I should be careful and not use it at Walmart! LoL

  • It seems pretty stupid since he always paid on time. Perhaps he shouldn't use the account as much now. Too bad for AmEx. :'(

  • This happened to me with Am Ex so I simply wrote them a letter informing them to close my account immediately. Now I get regular letters from them asking me to sign up again. I shred them and use them as compost in the garden.

  • @longwalkshortpier I have a number of cards and I only use two normally. I use each of them once a year just to make sure they don't terminate it. I've never had a card "shut down." I would be made because I use my newer cards and my earlier cards are collecting dust.

  • @DarkTruth33 Yea well I have a credit score that rivals his. I had my credit limit on some cards reduced, but after x amount of time has increased it almost to where it was. I'd be ticked off as well. "I pay my bills, make six figures (guy on video), and you want reduce my credit limit? Screw you guys. I am going to cancel all my cards and start from scratch with another company!"

  • @DarkTruth33 I wish that worked well too. Unfortunately, Chase shutdown one of my cards without warning because I wasn't using it to their satisfaction. You have to periodically use them or risk getting closed out. Closing out credit lines hurts you more than helps because your debt to credit limit ratio increases overnight and your FICO score dips. This may trigger more reactions from other revolving creditors.

  • Oh good, As long as I don't use the card at Walmart... But a porno store is OK. (Walmart may not like my comments) ha ha

  • @IBMeddling Sex always sells, don't think they would have a problem with it.

  • What if you use your card at the porno store?

  • burn their plastic asses
