Windoc Bridge Accident

On Aug. 11/01 MV Windoc had a road bridge drop on it in the Welland Canal. The ship caught fire and the accomidation was burned out. There were no injuries.

Because of the uninformed comments here, let me explain the real story. The bridge operator was in no condition to work that day, but was forced overtime (work or you're fired). He was sick and on medications (Codeine and cough medicine) that caused him to not be in a normal state. Inform yourselves before you make assumptions

If you knew anything about the bridge you would realize that they upgraded the bridge a year later with a PCL which is a computer so this wouldn't happen, and why on earth are you bashing the government?

The wheelsman stayed in the pilothouse by the wheel, laying on the deck while the pilothouse was peeled off just over his head!  I still cant believe he did that!
