your shipment of fail has arrived

The wheelsman stayed in the pilothouse by the wheel, laying on the deck while the pilothouse was peeled off just over his head! I still cant believe he did that!

@CanadaCoastGrdChris another version of the story that I heard was the operator was under heavy influence of alcohol.A ship had passed the bridge before and the operator attempts to lower the bridge but fails to notice Windoc was approaching. He only realize it when the noise of metal being twisted and crushed starts playing in his ears.

@CottonwoodStudios "they"removed? looks like the bridge operator did a pretty thorough job all by himself !
-
22 crew members aboard but nobody died....but I wonder how many of them changed jobs afterward

@CanadaCoastGrdChris so once again, the government has committed an epic fail, and once again, no one gets fired because of it. How TYPICAL of government! If this was a privately owned bridge, someone's can would have surely been kicked. But because it's operated and owned by the government, no accountability is doled out. And why should it? Governments THRIVE and get more funding the greater they fail.

@NTRT11 ironicly the name is the windoc 2 named after a ship also hit by a rising bridge on the same canal

Because of the uninformed comments here, let me explain the real story. The bridge operator was in no condition to work that day, but was forced overtime (work or you're fired). He was sick and on medications (Codeine and cough medicine) that caused him to not be in a normal state. Inform yourselves before you make assumptions
