    Man... I remember seeing this on the news right after it happened, and I thought to myself, "Oh God, I just watched a video of someone being killed." The impact of her face against the ice, and the way her body just slid motionlessly away, I really thought she was dead. Purple Hearts to her.

    Yes, when I was in the audience I was numb for the first few minutes. I thought that she was paralyzed, I didn't know for sure if she was dead, but that thought did cross my mind.

    You should have seen the near miss with Obertas and Slavnov doing the exact same lift in the exact same spot on the ice a few minutes before. My friend Ruby feels the accident with T&M was caused by Maxim tripping over the hole made by Sergei's toe pick.

    Yes, she didn't skate for 11-12 days after the accident. Poor Maxim was up all that night, understandably so, and had to speak with a sports psychologist.

    What nearly ended their career wasn't tatiana's injury, it was maxim's fear of lifting her again. He had to start seeing a sports psychologist in order to start skating again.
