  • @HoboStudios are you talking about just downloading the program from serato?if so yes you will need to get one of the SL boxes(hardware) SL 1,2,3 or 4 made by rane for serato, which the timecode vinyls come with the package. They are kinda pricey starting from $499.99-899.99 US if you have any other questions just ask and I'll let you know best to my knowledge. Thanks

  • @richelder99 you can also go for a controller deck like numark ns6. I like turntables because i still have a large collection of vinyl. I am somewhat of a elitist and old school so i will always use turntables. It's just you're preference if your a turntablist yes get turntables and get use to vinyl. Always start off with the cheapest set up just in case you are not liking it;) good luck feel free to ask any other questions.

  • @richelder99 I use serato scratch live and yes I have to use a real vinyl record called a "timecode" vinyl specifically made for serato Dj software. I'm not familiar with virtual Dj. This is pretty much a regular turntable and will need to send some kind of signal to control software.and that's what the "timecode" vinyl is for.
