Gesture recognition

Motion control based on symbolic gesture analysis, in realtime, through Independent Component Analysis (ICA) technique. This is a demo from my Master Thesis @ Universidade do Porto (University of Porto - Portugal).

The character in green represent the gesture that is recognised which means:
a - speed up
t - slow down
n - do nothing
d - right
e - left

On the bottom-left window there are two controls that represent the speed of the object and the direction of its movement.

hi..

just want to know, what is the function of the red line on the hand? is it served as a vector and how did the system translate the gesture into words? (using database/compare or based on the line's degree)

The red line is the axis of inertia.

The gestures are translated into words via a statistical technique (ICA).

I'm getting so much positive feedback that I have to think again about opening a business to explore it somehow...

No this sotware is not available. This was just my master thesis and I haven't continued working on it.
