I downloaded the JigLib physics library for XNA and implemented a car model of my own into the out-of-the-box application. It works amazingly well as JigLib takes care of acceleration, drag, friction, collisions etc. It looks like it's all running a bit slow, like driving around on the moon but that would just be tweaking the settings I reckon.
Now to add the spring chase camera behind the car.
