@PneubTube he disliked his given name, Wood, so he added Frank...and made his middle name "Woodruff" in honor of family members of that lineage.

He probably changed his name to Frank Buckles to sound more olde-timey.

That man is tough as nails, been through 2 World Wars fighting for our freedom and still around to tell about it at 109 years old. God bless him.

@stlgtrace There are 2 other British WWI vets and one Polish one that are still alive.

@stlgtrace AWESOME, I remamber a british vetran acouple of years ago who was agile and healthy like any other man. When he dies it will be the end of an histroical ling with the past forever. I would love to meat him.
