the noise is mostly the door, i know because the squeaks happen right as the door switches between sections. A little WD-40 on the door should fix that. I personally think that Chamberlain should go back to the V belt primary drives. They are so much quieter then the gears. I know this because my cousin had one. I am kicking myself for not saving it when i had to replace it. The limit system stopped working and i couldn't get the case off. :(
