The Pune International Marathon was held on Sunday.
Hundreds of enthusiasts from all walks of life participated in the event.
India's junior Foreign Minister flagged off the race.
The 26.2 mile course was won by Kenyan Augustine Ronoh in 2 hours 13 minutes 5 seconds.
[Augustine Ronoh, Pune International Marathon Winner]:
"The race was very okay, the course was very good. With the support of the people of Pune, who cheered me on the way, I really enjoyed it. I hope that something better comes up and I hope to come to 2010."
The runners were cheered by over 30 thousand people.
