  • Nice review.

I just got my HDD back and it's unfixable so looking for another i here WD is the best i had a seagate never had problems till i dropped it.

What would you suggested should stick with seagate or get a WD my book.

  • from a quality/reliability perspective there really is no difference between WD or Seagate as far as the actual disks are concerned. As far as external storage, that is comparable as well- if you don't have any specific demands I would shop based on price.

  • I picked up one of these the other day and i'm impressed. During my research into purchasing this unit I discovered there was a previous My Book World Edition that had rings on the front instead of the cylon indicator. For some reason Western Digital named both drives exactly the same which confused a lot of people which is unfortunate because whereas the ringed My Book was universally considered garbage, this new version seems quite excellent so far!

  • nice i was looking at getting this? hows the remote connection software?

  • he ya. I see have new measure unit 1 iphone wow. In acient time peopele measure everythink by foot now is the iphone. Nice review but i more interesting how it can be connected and how it could be acessing to data.

    Qestion:

    1. I have dsl internet conection with various ip. Can i connect to this drive outside from internet?

    2. There is any lan drive with torrent client?

  • so its not wireless? if u can be in a differnt country, surfing your home files, why do you need a fucking cable when your at home? stupid if u ask me

  • oh ok thanks man :)

  • @aspiregemstone I have the back my book 500gb and I just checked cause you got my curiosity going but you can't do a password but you CAN choose to share it and WHO you will allow to share it or no sharing and only you can access it. Which means anyone on your comp could. If anyone else uses your computer you could have them create there own user account and still be only you who can use it.

  • @scottchambers60 I had the blue rings version. So u know what i did? I purposely wrecked it, Went with the waranty to the shop. And they gave me credit for the price of my broken HDD, so i ordered this one :P

  • can u put password on the HDD so other people cant connect to it ?Or it only connects to the people using your router?

  • You dont actually have to use the CD at all to set it up. Can all be done via web page.

  • can i stream videos via remote access?
