If you can be arrested for being an "ass" in your own property, Rush Limbaugh would have been in prison for forever by now. Ours is a nation of laws, and primacy of the individual.Not the other way 'round. 'Nuff said.

Simply ??? Did you hear the recording of the radio tranmissions? He was yelling like a psycho! Look at his picture when he was arrested! Still yelling with his mouth wide open. That's why people were gathering in the street to see what was going on. He was yelling. Gates is an ass. Even his students confessed to that.

Gates was NOT abusive to the officer, He simplly asked for his badge number after Gates shoed his ID thru the screen-door. The cops KNEW who Gates was the entire time and KNEW IT WAS HIS HOUSE!!!

The damning thing, and why the cops are liable for lawsuit, is the cops KNEW WHO PROFESSOR GATES WAS THE ENTIRE TIME AND KNEW IT WAS HIS HOUSE!!!
