DO A BARREL ROLL!

Great job on this! (You may want to edit your tags and change artcat1962 to Stand-AloneComplex... I have moved deviantART accounts. ^_^)

@nevelis This... this isn't simple at all.
-
@hennessy116 Heh, I know how much work goes into even a simple game like this, and for 4 weeks, this is a fucking awesome effort :D good job!

Landmaster FTW! I like the 8-bit look of the health and boost bars.

this is cool! brings back memories of starfox 64 :D prob my 2nd favorite game on the nintendo 64 next to star wars rogue squadron. Any how, I might be going to Neumont university, and this is a big reason why is you don't spend your time in a textbook, you learn it and you apply it

Isn't it cheating when you've already got most of the game components free?

@Xaio30 Time is a big factor. We only had 4 weeks. Developing a game like this is enormously challenging. Instead of spending an extra year developing physics/particle engines, we decided to make a nice looking and fun to play game. Game Dev. is not our major.
Why re-invent the wheel? Why write a program if someone else has already written it for you? (unless of course you want to learn from the experience, or you want to build something bigger and better)

@hennessy116 So your job was to code it all together? It turned out great anyhow.

@Xaio30 Project Based learning. The teacher assigned us groups and had us go at it. We had a lot of freedom in what we wanted to do and what we wanted to learn.

@hennessy116 "Why write a program if someone else has already written it for you?" - surely you mean "Why create content when someone else has created content already?", right? You DID create the program from scratch, but reused 3rd-party content. How can that possibly be compared to reinventing the wheel?

@nevelis Yes we wrote the program from scratch, but reused 3rd-party content. Perhaps "reinvent the wheel" was not the best way to express that.
