A fantastic singer. Since this song came out I have always enjoyed listening to Brook Benton. Many have sung it -- even my idol Ricky Nelson sung it -- however , for me, Benton does it best. Brook Benton's best song and performance is, in my humble opinion, "Rainy Night in Georgia"...available here in U-Tube. Beautifully touching !
Artists like this do not exist anymore. It is very sad that all we get now from black artists is mostly RAP & Hip Hop which for me I consider crap.
