On Sunday 16 August 2009 Brooklands historic race track, was the venue for a new slot car world record. An army of volunteers constructed a 2.75 mile race track around the original Brooklands race circuit using 20,000 pieces of scalextric track. The world record was achieved by two slot cars completing the course in 2 hours.

  • The World record Track at Brooklands was Scalextric and that was what was marked on the Boxes as they were building it. Also all the cars were scalextric.

Carrera were also represented at the other events taking place on the day scuch at the Drag strip under Concorde. This was the Pendle slot club event which was also run in 2010. See my other video.

  • Found the German record that was beaten. Interesting to see how different the 2 approaches were. You can find it by searching "Berlin slot car record"
