  • does anyone know where i can download arcgis 9.3 im learing how to use it in tech class and im fallin behind so i wanna catch up plzz anyone get back to me as soon as posible

  • @armircoviello You can request an ArcGIS Desktop 9.3.1 Evaluation DVD from the ESRI website.

This is a free 60-day trial copy of the software.

If you are located outside the United States your request will be forwarded to your local ESRI distributor.

We are currently waiting for a new shipment of the evaluation DVDs to arrive, so requests are a bit backed up right now.

The new DVDs should be arriving next week.

  • Importing shapefiles into existing geospatial PDFs is available only in Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended. Please consult the Adobe Acrobat documentation for more information.

  • Bit dissappointed with this.

    Does not support transparency.

Any transparent layers or raster images flatten all other layers beneath it in the TOC - Will this be fixed in later versions?

  • Transparent map layers in ArcGIS Desktop affect the rendering of map layers below the transparent layer. The lower map layers are effectively rasterized when output in any format. As a result, exporting a map to PDF combines the affected layers into a single raster layer. This is a limitation of the operating systems graphics engine. We plan to replace this implementation after the ArcGIS 9.4 release.

  • That's it? TerraGo's GeoPDF is capable of so much more.I am a current customer of TerraGO's and was a little worried for them when I initially heard ESRI was coming out with a GeoRegistered PDF. After seeing the video, TerraGo has nothing to worry about.

  • Thanks for your comment. The PDF features in ArcGIS 9.3 are core functionality requested by many customers. ESRI welcomes other companies extending the capability of the ArcGIS platform.
