@physicsbugga PLEASE CHECK OUT "MAN BURNS MAGNESIUM THERMITE", Watch me put out a magnesium thermite fire with my bare hands using a liquid foam. If your a firemen you need this, low cost we understand fire department can be low on funding. This will save lives.

Must be a Ford.

Americans are not a very smart people. It's not just their firefighters.
-
you people making crap about fire fighters should probably notice how he didnt really freak out or anything, this is common.

@physicsbugga to people out there who thinks this guy isn't a retard. If you have any training at all you know that a car fire should be approached by a two man team, and I don't mean one on the hose and one on the engine. Also the spray pattern should be fanned out... not a direct stream. And almost every rural volunteer dept has a foam injection system... If they are the least bit managed

Its a ford, stays running evenn on fire.
to the people out there that think the firefighters are "retards", most car fires are put out this way, when the firefighters know full well that this will happen. The fact is not every fire department has the budget needed to buy the various foams needed to deal with these fires. And water will work just fine in putting this kind of fire out. It just takes a while :)

you morrons chechk the MSDS of magnesium.
When you try to extinguish a magnesium fire with water MgO and H2 are formed. Hydrogengas will burn and thats what you see.
so first this happens
H2O + Mg --> MgO + H2
and second when there is an open flame this happens
2 H2 + O2 --> H2O
