M.I.A.'s Born Free music video response

This is my response to M.I.A.'s music video for Born Free. I am a redhead, yes. And I am not at all offended. I think it is foolish to be offended by something that is just attempting to show a point through example. The point of the video is to explain how setting up petty differences as excuses to kill each other is completely ridiculous. The point was never to "be mean" to people with red hair.

The changes the reaction to it, it changes when the group doesn't look so ethnic. It's hard foe some people to understand because of this, maybe, when the people look so relatable to them. We're so used to seeing poor people of color in such places. The roles were reversed.

You are spot on Missiworld. M.I.A. used redheads to westernise the idea of genocide. Genocide is happening all over the world right now and the west turns a blind eye. Basically M.I.A. was saying. "Look, how shocking would it be if this happened in the west......it's happening where I was born and a hundred other places and nobody even blinks at it." I guess she used redheads because it's generally only in western countries the gene is particularly strong. x
