CAS Property Management Company CAUGHT

CAS Property Management Company, LLC was caught on tape removing water from fire hydrant without the consent or permission from PBC Water Authority.

They used the water after requesting two companies provide them with bids to clean the sidewalks and driveway aprons in the "Brentwood of Boca" community located off Lyons Road. Two other companies provided bids of $7000.00 if water had to be supplied and another company charged $6300.00 if water had to be supplied. CAS then decided they could do the job for $1200.00 with FREE PBC Water Utility water FREE OF CHARGE. How unethical is that?

No meter AND no back flow valve that prevents chemicals from going back into the water supply when there is a drop in water pressure.

This has got to stop. How many other communities have they done this too? Making matters worse, the president of the Brentwood HOA is also an employee of CAS Property Management. How unethical is that? SHAME ON ALL OF YOU.

omg this guy Kaufman is really nasty... yeah, its true that cas was doin something wrong, but you can see on the video the guy had no idea that was ilegal. what i can tell for sure its that i would never hire kaufmans company... and i hope people really see who's the stealer in this story. im sure that guy that was getting the water lost his job, all cause people like kaufman dont have anything to do other than being a pain in the ass. shame on you kaufman!

I hope as time goes on a more sophisticated class of human beings provide their commenbts rather than imbeciles who spell words such "doin" "ilegal" "kaufmans" etc. I would never consider working for an association such as Brentwood of Boca as the Board Members and I use that term loosely are out for themselves, not for the community.

The intent was there. Other proposals mentioned if outide water was needed, $7000 additional. CAS is the management company and then they do the job themselves claiming stupidity as if they were unaware. President of the HOA also works for CAS. This too is a conflict of interest. SHAME ON YOU CAS. Hopefully other properties will reconsider simply because if you don't know the law, how can you manage a property? Kind of scary if you ask me.

They mention competition however there are only 6 Pressure Cleaning Machines in the state of Florida using HOT WATER. I'm one of the companies. We clean with 200 degree water, no chemicals AND we pay for the water we use. CAS actually drove the trailer with NO PLATES and after they were notified on 8-20-08, they purportedly got plates. Consider another management company.

I believe that Mr. Kaufman has a vindictive nature, and obviously has nothing better to do with his time, and has also filed several lawsuits against other companies. I believe that this was an honest mistake made by a new employee of the company.

Mr. Kaufman also runs a business out of his own home which is against the Declaration of Covenants for the Association as stated in Article XV.

Screw the utility companies! And, in case you were wondering, I can spell 'illegal'. Who cares!?!? We all get screwed by utility companies every single month! Stealing water does NOT drive everyones bill higher. It's just unrealistic to think that 1-3% loss per year is going to cost everyone else money. I'm not trying to be "racist" but is this company primarily made up of people from Mexico? Because this is how they do it in Mexico. And it puts pollutants back into the water supply. It is becoming a problem is Los Angeles as everything is a "race to the bottom" now - as wages fall. For instance Mexicans operate "waste removal" companies. They charge a dirt CHEAP price. They come pick up your waste AND DUMP IT IN THE WOODS! OR ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ETC! Then your tax dollars clean it up.

Please report this to the local fire department, the PBCWA and Federal Trade commission.

They should be fined to the fullest extent of the law.

This is totally unethical. "We can use FREE water to under bid our competitors". The competitors are operate ethically and that's why thier price is higher.

REPORT THEM. They Feds will open a case. It could last for a couple years but they will be fined.
