My former Sea scout boat is Cape Jellison! We love her and take very good care of her! The Boat next to us is another Former Sea Scout boat and it's name is Cape Romain!
I served aboard USCGC Maui (WPB-1304) in Miami Beach in the early 90's. The island class cutters are fast and well armed, but I would have killed to have a stack like the cape class had! The first job they gave me as a new boot was to handle line 3, which was right above the exhaust port! *cough*
Actually, there were 95's in service until around 1990.. I was on the decommissioning crew of the Cape Upright (95303) in '89. Sold her to the Bahamian Defense Force and became the David Tucker. There were still quite a few in service after us...
One of these was bought by "Sea Shepherd"... such a shame. When I was stationed on an 82' WPB, we kept that boat (painted black) away from some tribal fishermen near Neah Bay, WA.
Those Island class boats are sexy as hell. It was a shame to see one commandeered by pirates.

I was on the Cape Morgan out of Group S. Portland, Maine 86-88.
Like being in a cement mixer in rough seas especially when towing.
Lots of fun breaking and shoveling ice off the boat in Feb in the Gulf of Maine!
