The first in a series of virtual bush walks in New Zealand focusing primarily on New Zealands only native palm, Rhopalostylis sapida. The Nikau palm as it is called in New Zealand is widespread but differs from one location to the next. This video is an introduction of sorts to the New Zealand bush taken on what I like to call a "tourist" bush walk, i.e, very wide paths, well maintained steps, handrails, lookouts and plant identification tags. Please let me know what you think of the video so I can tailor the next ones better. This one was a little rushed in both filming and editing.
