  • what? they are the most efficent engines on the road today and they do not burn all the fuel they actually have a problems meeting the emission standards for the US. rotaries are pretty musch the exact opposite of what you said.

  • i dont think so... the only problem i saw is that sometimes just one spark plug ignites while the other just stays dead... maybe it works just like that, maybe it doesnt, i dont really care cuz im not into these rotary engines...

  • it's WANKEL MOTOR ;)

  • Many negative comments here are inaccurate & opinion based (not data & fact based).

Mazda developed the 13B engine & some early production had apex & water seal issues. But racers bought this sports car to push it hard, adding boost & NOS etc. So they broke it. Once rebuilt with upgraded seal components those problems are alleviated. My original 13b went 157,000 miles & I pushed the hell outa it at Laguna Seca

For some reason if an rotary engine blows, folks conclude its because it was a rotary

  • Rotary engine are the least environmentally friendly engines on our planet but they sure sound neat lol Standing behind a rx7 almost killed me once from the fumes...

  • japaneese art. specialist on technoligy and other constructions, love em the onlyone that actually CAN make cars, sleds\snowmobiles (yamaha) and so on you got my full attention and respect. wankel are small engine and they deliver ALOT of power to.

  • they burn fuel like its going out of fashion, plus they need overhauling quite often, on a plus side alot of power and they rev like crazy

  • @bauuau18 Not very good im always fueling up that to me is the downside of a great engine

  • @bauuau18 The wankel performance is very high, but the consumption is not economic!!! In one rotary piston you've got 3 ignitions per round! With 2 rotary pistons so you've got 6 ignitions per round, that's like a 12-cylinder 4-stroker.... The engine speed range has got a limit at 11000rpm!

  • How is the fuel consumption on this car?
