Free front squats can be pretty tough to hold the bar in place, especially as you get tired. I end up choking myself out before my quads are cooked. I'm doing free fronts now though, trying to get better at them.
He may have been having some lower back irritation. Squats and dead lifts are very difficult to take to failure if you've been experiencing any type of lower back pain.
Great form as always... Was that your working set?? Cause i think you could have squeezed out a couple more reps.. I thought the working set was an all out set to failure..
I used to be able to do that but my flexibility to get my arms back like that sucks now.

I train DC and you cant beat front squats for quad size!!
