Demonstration of correcting for a crosswind with ADF bracketing. Why am I making videos on ADF anyway? Yes, ADF is obsolete, VOR is better, and GPS is waaaay better; but there are still some NDB stations left, ADF is still part of the written test, ground training and flight training, and if your aircraft has an ADF in it, you will be tested on its use during the practical. Besides, you want to be able to tell the next generation of pilots about how you used to navigate using GROUND BASED radio stations...and actually had to fly IN the aircraft!

  • I've been watching your tutorials and I'm learning a lot, but something is confusing me about this tutorial... At 3m10s(ish), you say "for a heading of 345", but by my calculations we should be on a heading of 335 at this point. Please could you tell me where I'm going wrong in my calculations, or if this is simply an error that I have picked up on.

  • @OSBUK You're absolutely right. I do say 345 at that point, but our heading is definitely 335. Very good catch. Thanks for the correction!
