Well the injuries didn't occure becuase of that he threw with a lot of arm. Javelin throwers are always having trouble with their elbow or shoulder. As i said... the power doesn't come from the arm.. the body is throwing the javelin

You can't first use your body to create an power that goes up to your arm and then try to give the javelin a little extra push with your arm. If you do that the power that you have already created from the body will just dissapear, because the arm can't create the same power as your body can. So that he uses a lot of arm is just bullcrap. He would probably just have thrown about 70-75 metres if he had thrown that way.
Watch most of the best throwers in the world. They all plant left of their CoM... they vary by thrower but it takes a lot of the pressure off of the knee with all of the torque involved in their plants.
i have to agree with you on his technique, he did have his share of injuries didn't he but i believe the more rotational you are the more prone you are to injury my 2 cents , Bob Sing started as rotational ended up throwing linearbecause of injuries
The width and length of the delivery stride are critical. The width needs when the plant lands both feet are slightly outside the shoulders permitting the right hip to go forward for maximum hip shoulder separation and maximum throwing length and pull.
The delivery stride needs to be long enough so all pressure is on the plant so the right can drag forward wih minimum resistance allowing the throwing shoulder to pull well forward so the srm strike follows the javelin's release angle.
