Do we reallyneed to hear why someone thinks they nead to make a book whether you went on vacation ad nauseum-it is just something else I have to remember that I do not need thisinformation-please just getto the point and stop telling us all this extra crap we do not care about

@defjam99b Agree 100% on everything you said. I rather take info on wiki as something to learn from and spice up my own thoughts and ideas than some college textbook which has probably being written by someone who had more selfish reasons of writting it like making money rather than making information available. Wiki is done by people for the people and with love. Long live INTERNET.

@MrSquitwet Just because the information is online doesn't mean it's true. Keep that in mind... Always double check things. Since there is a limit to where a crown is smarter than a single person...

@craigdb84 and those professors are doing their students a disservice. Studies have shown that in many areas wikipedia is as accurate as Britannica. I am a full time scientist and for an initial appraisal with a sourced article wikipedia is great. I use it frequently. Anything that is sourced can be checked for accuracy.
@craigdb84
I believe that Wikipedia has more reliability than you think it does. 5+ years ago, Wikipedia has a lot of problems with people putting down fake information. But now, it is extremely difficult to put fake information in there considering it has to go through a considerable amount of filters.

Just because a book is published doesn't mean it's true. Keep that in mind.

@craigdb84 ... Are you saying that you believe everything you read in a book, do you believe everything you hear on TV or radio. You are supposed to always think for yourself and consider the sources. Not just on wikipedia.
Anyone can publish their own book, does that mean that "you can't believe people use books for research". Didn't think so, so why all the wikipedia hate?
Some professors, part of the academics book racket, don't much like global open acces to information, shame on them.
