Tragedies and trials can happen in the life of a Christian. God can still work these circumstances for good, even if we don't fully understand them. Taken from a message Pastor Greg Laurie did with Randy Alcorn, entitled "Big Life Issues".
Why would you worship a god who stands by an allows suffering? On 9/11 your god presumably knew ahead of time what would happen, and he could have stepped in and altered events, yet he didn't. What do we think of people who have advance warning, as well as the power to act on it, yet do nothing? The word I would use is "complicit." "Guilty" is another. "Sadistic" is another. Respectfully I share that as my view.
While I sympathize with the death of his child. Its something no parent should gave to endure,I do not think that the bible offers any sort of rational answer to overcome grief. In this bible, it is stated that all prayers will be answered to the true believer. And yet if this were the case, why didnt God step in and prevent the accident from happening? If anything this would that God is benevolent and powerless.
