I like that more shows/movies are finally starting to go with the more wolfish werewolves. All though I do like the bipedal wolf look too, when it's actually well done (like in Van Helsing, though I didn't think the movie itself was great). Never particularly been a fan of the Wolfman look, looks more like a carnivorous ape-creature than werewolf. Plus in most of the older werewolf myths, werewolves did look like wolves, especially if you go really far back to Greek myth for example.

whats all the fighting about which wolves are better? Look at the big picture people if true blood had Giant wolves instead of normal wolves who would be the biggest badass on the block! ill give you a hint its not the vampires :P

@TheGarfieldxx30000 real wolves cant beat vampires i would of be fine with lycans or twilight wolves i love real wolves to its just the true blood vamps are too powerful for normal animals

@gwenleblanc Forgot to mention, there's only one dog they used that isn't a wolf and that was the Malamute that was carrying the crown/ was going to attack Jessica in the third season.

@horsechick6693 It isn't called a wolf hybrid, its a wolfdog. Wolves and dogs are the same species. Secondly, they even mention in their "making of" video that they use.. omg.. REAL WOLVES :D

Its not hard to tell a pure wolf from a wolfdog, especially for me, since ive been working with both for a long time :)
