Whicy is why I said Flygon makes more sense I know Altaria is part dragon but it's in my oppinion the weakest dragon type pokemon.

My Electivire OHKO'd his whole team with ice punch for all dragons and thunderpunch for charizard and gyrados. It was lvl 70 but was very fast

@charlieboiy as far as i kno no because in the time line this would be set 3 years after fire red and leaf green just like silver gold crystal was set 3 years after red blue and yellow

to me flygon,salemence,garchomp and dragonite,rayquaza are the only dragon types that actually look like dragon pokemon,altaria looks like a normal flying type,i think they sould have made charizard a dragon,fire type,wouldve been cool
