Excellent, obscure 1977 science fiction western that blends elements of "1984", "The Prisoner" and "Westworld" into a great little thriller. People dressed in grey suits with cards identifying them as murderers show up void of memory in a dirty little western town where killing is the law! Stars the late, great Jack Palance, Keir Dullea, Samantha Eggar and Barry Morse. Directed by British film legend Peter Sasdy.

  • jack palance in more nutty movies than johnny depp. not palance's own voice? movie a less bloody el topo? (certainly an obscure movie.)

  • It's definitely Palance's own voice in the film, but definitely not in the same arena as El Topo. Surreal to a point, but not a surrealist film by any means.

  • this is also in the invasion: sci-fi dvd collection 50 pack...

  • This was actually a very good film, very underated for some reason though.

  • My Grandad wrote this ^.^

  • @AdminPlant thanks dude, I've been looking for this film all over the place. Welcome To blood City is not available anywhere on its own, unless you want to pay silly money for a VHS tape (£49). I got the DVD you mentioned from the US amazon site. I'm in the UK.... not seen this since the 1980s !!!

Now I want to find the comeplete Mr Merlin (1980s)

  • The ending is the best thing about this movie! You can get it on a four DVD movie pack called "Wild West Shootout".

  • I saw this on tv. Intriguing, but let down by a very unimaginative ending. Great opening music by Roy Budd.

  • i am looking to buy this movie.somewhere i hope.

did you know that this is where the idea for the matrix originated
