Neil Diamond's third hit in 1966 (following "Solitary Man" & "Cherry Cherry") was the moody breakup ballad "I Got The Feelin'".The single hit #16 on the charts. One of my favorite of his early hits.

  • Always liked this though it wasn,t all that big a hit. From what David Cassidy says he sang it for his recording audition so it worked for him, too!

  • great post--a very special song.

  • Black Eyed Peas version is better..

  • @GoddessSeajay I will be 60 on Sept 30th and Neil has been a part of my life & feelings since I was a kid! I know exactly how you feel.I think whatever we want at our funeral is appropriate ,after we have come this far in this crazy world! !

  • Why do I love this song? I don't know!

  • Neil has so many "best" songs, it's hard to pick just one.......but this is ONE of my favorites. I told my kids years ago, whether it's appropriate or not, I want Neil Diamond music played at my funeral.

I have loved his songs since I was a teenager......8 tracks and all.....I'm now 60. Neil lasts forever.

  • @tangledinblue2000 Yes, they say music is the sound track of our lives, and it truly is! This has to be one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded ♥ Beautiful memories! ♥

  • @msstevie1951 Geez can I relate to that...never thought finding this song again would have an effect on me, but it does. I have the same story only it was 1970-71 in my ex's parents car...an olds or Pontiac, can't be sure. He even sang part of it to me on one those dates..."I love you so much I can taste it"...best times of our lives.

  • oh my .....lord have mercy..i dont think ive ever heard this................finally have, cuz i wanted 2 hear red rubber ball song by the cyrcle and there it was..neil d sang that song too

  • @salchez68 Yes Sal,factory air! But my hubby put the 8 track player in himself! LOL Those were the days, love to go back for just a while! x Donna x
