  • Dennett is a thoroughly overrated thinker who has contributed little profound insight and whose fame far exceeds his actual work.

Controveriality of topics and views combined with a general accesibility of work to larger public seems enough. The same can be observed with the likes of Fukuyama

  • Native Indians used to build civilizations without writing system

  • It's surreal to watch a series of videos with someone in them for hours, over a couple of days, and then search their name again, click on a different series, and see them 30-40 years later. It seems like a supremely absurd, well orchestrated joke, is played on you (if you're me at least).

  • Searle is a great speaker, by which I mean he is clear, concise, accurate and has good tonality and expressiveness. Unlike Dennett who sedates and even bores when talking about interesting subjects.

  • Searle is obviously thought a lot on this, and he has a good Aristotilian point about the ontology of concepts.

  • Thanks Professor!

  • Джон Сёрл о современном мышлении, о языке, знаниях...

  • A great scholar.
