The spacious melodies, and an invitation to feel far away.

Who is at the baton? Ravel himself?

I loved her playing this work as a boy, on a 33rpm. What a great performance and phrasing!

What beautiful memories her performance of Ravel's Concert brings to me. I have an old 33rpm of this work. I would listen to it over and over. How gentile and admirable is her phrasing!

How precious to have this recording of the great Marguerite Long. She was chosen by Ravel himself to premiere this concerto, after his illness made it impossible for him to play the piano part in public. He dedicated the score to her. According to Wikipedia, Ravel may have supervised this recording, or even conducted the orchestra.
