@TheGammajamma Not so sure about that, look it up a counter offensive was put unto the Germans and throughout much of the war the USSR fought the Nazi face to face even with ill trained men and a lack of supply lines as well as a lack of preparedness. The USSR actually signed a Non-Pact Treaty with the Germans because the whole capitalistic world wanted Hitler and Stalin to duke it and out kill each other.

The reality was the western front was put on kinda late, Operation Torch was the Allies first objective to get into the Axis territory and establish a front but not in France but in Italy. This obviously did not work since the Germans used the Alps to slow the allied advance

@TheGammajamma yea but that so called western front was put on hold because the Brits were weary of an attack on German soil, since their WWI campaigns did not have much success. In truth, the USSR pushed the Germans back by ourselves without reinforcements from anyone else. What makes this even more extraordinary is that fact that the majority of soldiers were actually drafted civilians who were never trained before and much of the military was destroyed by the Great Purge.
