Let's Play! Odin Sphere Part 3: Rendevous with the Faerie Queen

Part 3:

We come across the game's first mini-boss: the Unicorn Knight. Unfortunately, I get smacked around a bit because apparently not playing this game for a 1+ year makes me forget how to jump! I apologize profusely but at least you can giggle at my expense.

Continuing on, we stumble upon our first shop, learn that Spirit Stones are AWESOME, and talk to the random NPCs. Brigan is late, as usual, and Gwendolyn can really bark out some orders when she needs to.

After a while, we find the Faerie Queen, who is the enemy in this battle. After wondering what Odin is up to, the Faerie Queen runs right into Gwendolyn (or visa versa.) Trash talk ensues, and the Faerie Queen summons Belial, a dragon which you will learn to hate with a passion.

Next video, we kick his giant scaled booty all over the place!

Wait, what about the Luck Stone? Isn't it good to get items?

It is, but I find you get enough item drops without it. You can also use the lucky potion to get the same effect.

In terms of experience vs items, experience wins for me.

Real quick, if you push the d-pad or analog stick rapidly, you can get out of dizzy faster. Just letting newcomers know, because that's one of the most common status effects (most bosses have at least one move that can dizzy you).

Typically I mix up between spirit stone when i want to grind and attack boosts when I want to progress. Have fun against the first boss.
