When Millie arrived back in Jamaica after her worldwide success there was a huge crowd waiting to see her. Her manager, Island Records boss Chris Blackwell was there and was purturbed and slightly shocked to notice that Millie's mother greeted her curtsying before her, like she was royalty, inferior to her own daughter. He realised in that moment that fame and success should never stop people being normal and losing their sense of who they are...

Thanx for all the in fo fans. I was born in the summer of 64. I love old R&R. Until here and now my fav female Rock and Roll Godesses were Janis Martin and Sparkle Moore fighting over the first place. Good News Millie Small recieves the Gold Medaql first Place. Congrats HONEY. The other two talents must fight over 2nd place.

She was in the right place at the right time. Her show in Finland must have been a success for her and the songs she made was so popular in many countries. She should still be receiving royalties from the number of times "My little boy lollipop" is played alone around the world. She could not have been that popular in the United States at the time unless she signed with labels like Motown Records.

A video showing Millie's actual homecoming would have been very interesting to see. You know, a scene of Millie getting off a plane or ship and waving to a large crowd. A shot of Millie providing autographs or being interviewed by the local media would have worked. Unfortunately this video shows nothing even resembling the homecoming of Millie Small.
