I was in that concert. I remember that Araiza told that he had some kind of bronchial illness that day. This aria was sung in Mexico City with 2200 m (7200ft) over the sea level where it is difficult to breath anf there is less oxigen if you are not completely adapted. He also sang six(!) encores

BUENO ESTE TENOR ES MUY BUNO PERO NUY CARGADA SU VOZ PARA SER ROSINIANO APARTE HAY UN TEMA BAJA MUCHO LA VOZ EN LAS AGILIDADES PORQUE NO PUEDE HACERLO TANRAPIDO COMO BLAKE NI JUAN DIEGO LA FORMA E SCNATARLA COMO BLAKE Y JUAN DIEGO Y TENIENDO COMO LEGADO A LUIS ALVA

Wironalga: I really must interject and say that you have no idea what you are talking about. Araiza here clearly teaches us how to properly sing Rossini. If that is your definition of fragile, then I would really like to hear what your idea of a full-bodied sound is.

magistrale
This is a great rendition! Araizas voice gives each phrase its proper weight under permanent control, going from thin to heavy as required resulting in a perfect characterization. Besides that I have not heard any singer who can sing the runs in such a differentiated way giving each one its own meaning like FA.
