also creationofmyown ignored the fact that hatsumi publicly displays his scrolls once a year for all to see, and also ignores the fact that several details in the main document in question the togakure ryu no hidensho have been independently been verified, but I guess all it takes is some anonymous posting on an online forum by individuals who know nothing about what they're talking bout to convince him. also creations does not speak japanese or trained in ninjutsu or been to Japan.

more lies from creationsofmyown eh? buy the BRD it clearly accept's the togakure ryu so does the kakutogi no rekishi which was printed before takamatsu was born. I guess takamatsu time travelled and got books printed about his fake school before he was born right? also keep in mind that Draeger one of the most respected ma scholars in the world accept the BJK so does Dr Kacem Zoughari who holds a phd in japanese culture and language the Zen nippon todo renmei's panel of experts also vouch for it

it seems that the spirit of the 70s and 80s with hatsumi ( the hardcore stuff) has been mostly carried to the genbukan.

i do not intend for you to not train in the bujinkan, just for you to do so with all of the available info, if i can get a chance to enter one it will be genbukan, but buj could be ok if its the right teacher

i also recommend the start of the bullshido post and the ebudo post it refers to found by googling "Kakutogi no Rekishi". both well written.

good, now WAIT, i do not want this to color your opinion of your sensei, who is likely not in the know of this, or of the actual techniques, which if employed properly DO have the potential to be very effective.

hatsumi IS a fantastic budoka, with a LARGE wealth of esoteric knowledge, he is also a major expert on exactly what ninjutsu is, he just knows it doesnt sell well..

i personally cannot prove him false, but i can prove it odd...

@Creationsofmyown Do you know, you've got me worried! I did a bit of further research and found a very long discussion (which I've only partly read so far) over on martialartsplanet forum... I've only just rejoined Bujinkan after a 4 year break and it's not nice to now have to question its authenticity.

there are 2 reasons, new evidence (which would mean ANY evidence)

or a lack of verifiability, and therefore a legal problem, as the BRD CARES about printing something that it can't prove beyond someone's say-so. that said, it does print that the only evidence is takamatsu's say-so as far as the ninjutsu lineages go.

hatsumi even had tanemura check into the claims that takamatsu made about his lineage. notice we never see what they turned up?
