Dallas Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway, Mayor Tom Leppert, and Rick Meyer and other executives of Save-A-Lot with community residents open a new grocery store at 2611 S. Lancaster in Dallas. This store is the catalyst for the revitalization of the Crest Shopping Center as part of the Caraways Lancaster Road Initiative. Save a Lot also donated 5,000 pounds of food to the North Texas Food Bank.

The store replaced an asbestos-filled theater that had been vacant for years.

Remarks from from Rick Meyer, Vice President of Save-A-Lot.
