Wow, that was so incredibly heartwarming. I think both your mentors have played this one too. I say wasn't it known as the Melodie?
Here's something for you. It's a rare record of Heifetz' Bazzini - the Ronde Lutens or whatever it's called from 1917, it's just so incredible what he does there, I don't think he himself played it like that again. It's available at this extension /watch?v=ygISwKze3X8
That and Menuhin's version are my favourite recordings of the piece.

@ksviewerx Thank you very much! Yes it can also be called 'Melodie.' My teachers did play this quite a bit. Friedman and Heifetz both have videos of this piece on Youtube I believe. Thanks for the Heifetz link to the Bazzini, that performance always amazes me and he was only 17!
