These "guest antagonizing Dave Letterman" shows are all staged! People love the tension, it makes it funnier & more interesting -- Haven't you guys noticed how many of these there are? Joaquin Phoenix, Crispin Glover, Madonna, etc etc. Clearly scripted, an act, and not that funny or interesting. Lazy

I get a strong impression that Pekar is a really nice guy. But he's definitely not impressed by fame which I think is another admirable trait. I think he just doesn't like being talked to like a child or patronized or made fun of and that's all that seems to be happening on these Letterman appearances. He says simpleminded bullshit because that's exactly what it is.

But, how in the hell is he being a jackass in this situation? He's just trying to conduct a regular interview, and Harvey Pekar keeps on with things he knew he wasn't invited to talk about, and be grouchy and difficult to work with.

Saw and met Harvey Pekar today at library in Cleveland. Very funny and smart. Did not know a lot about him. He knows a lot about jazz and described the importance of avante-garde or creating new art forms, pushing boundries - said when its not present fine art becomes folk art. He gave me an autograph too!

It's funny how Harvey Pekar is a respected man, a man who has made a difference... Letterman is JUST a talk show host and nothing more.

Harvey Pekar is truely a man of principals. That's what makes him such a unique character.

Pekar is so wonderfully eccentric - it's fun to see David being aggrevated.

Letterman always was,is and always will be a grade A A-hole. He is not worthy to wipe Harvey's
arse.
