ripping my fingernail completely off

i always wondered what it would feel like to rip a nail off. well today i found out. I was walking by my vacum cleaner and barely hit my hand against it. I look down and my nail was ripped half way off. not side to side but front to back so I had to rip it the rest of the way off myself. As you can see it ripped off all the way back past the cuticle. When i ripped it off i could see inside my finger back behind the cuticle. this is definitly the most painful thing I have felt.
