I believe the Bentley used an engine that was structually similar to the R8's engine but was enlarged to 4.0 liters and redesigned to be a proprietary Bentley engine.

Eh? It's the Diesel regs that suck. Prior to Audi's R10 Pescarolo always ran Audi close in Le Mans, in the same way that Peugeot do now. 2009 will prove to be far better competition wise with the regs being evened up between Diesel and Petrol.

Bentley were using a V12 correct me if im wrong? The chassis was heavily based on the R8 however.

Yep, Bentley did win in 2003 but they used an Audi R8R engine. That's why everyone considers it 8 years in a row. 7 for Audi teams, 8 for manufacture.

i remember in the 90's there was bmw, PORSCHE, toyota, nissan, lola, etc.
ever since audi came out with a deisel, no1 else has a chance nd even if the others start, they r already 3 years behind
