  • I'd like to remind everyone that Republicans are not against health care reform. What they are against is a government takeover of the healthcare system, a proven failure in other countries. Why we don't start by initiating tort reform and by opening up the marketplace accross state lines as many Republicans have proposed? These are two uncomplicated steps which are sure to reduce costs. Unfortunately the democratic politicians refuse, without explanation, to look at these options.

  • Lastly - Why would our best and brightest pursue a medical career that costs a fortune and many many years of painful work if they are limited by the return? the quality of care would plummet.

instead of focusing on the root cause....the need for tort reform. We will never see that because as we all know lawyers are the winners here.

  • Further - Obama ridicules the insurance industry and promised (1) no exclusions or pre-existing conditions and (2) Lower cost.

An insurance company is a business and is there to make a profit. If you mandate that they cover everything and charge less....who would want to be in that business? We would be left with the Government covering insurance and the total cost would go to taxpayers. The government would then try to limit cost via mandating lower fees to Doctors.

  • all of you who think that health insurance should be cheaper or free....how do you intend on paying for it? Health Insurance companies all LOSE money on the insurance part of their business and only eke out profits after investment income. should we force them to cover everyone at a loss?

  • Fifty-six percent of Americans oppose the plan by Obama and Congressional Democrats.

Do you understand that number jguffey95?

If you do, and you believe that ONLY Republicans oppose this, then you have to accept the fact that 56% of Americans are Republicans. Democrats, who supposedly support DEMOCRACY, should heed the voice of the majority of the people, and back off. After all, that IS what Democracy means.

It isn't about Obama today, any more than it was about the Clintons 16 years ago.

  • I wonder how much the Republicans resistance to health care reform is fueled by the desire to "break Obama".

Great Ad, unfortunately this happens too much, and not just to people with cancer, blue3711.

  • Millions of people who had insurance coverage died of cancer last year Dan.

This ad is emotional bullshit claptrap, and highly insulting to those of us who lost a loved one to cancer in spite of having great insurance coverage.

  • Why would they the insurance companies have many of our representatives in their pockets.

  • This is the human side of the healthcare debate that opponents of reform don't see, or don't want to see.
