FDNY Ladder 1, Engine 7, and Battalion 1, located at the corner of Duane Street and Broadway in downtown Manhattan, are called out for a full house response to an automatic alarm at the Javits building, which is located directly across Broadway from their house. As we go across Broadway to the scene, we are joined by Ladder 6 (tiller ladder from Chinatown Dragon Fighters) and Engine 6. The call was immediately dropped due to the fact that the alarm was only being tested, and communication between the people running the test and the fire department was not made. Anyway, Ladder 1, Engine 7, and Battalion 1 return to quarters at the end of the video. Ladder 1 and Engine 7 are both made by Seagrave. Ladder 1 has a 75 foot Aerialscope. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on June 24th, 2008.

  • benetatos is in the decon unit when they interviewed him on the 9/11 ten years later and he is married and has a daughter i had it on my dvr it might got deleted

  • @devildoc225 Never knew that, just always been told that cock and bull ;) haha

  • @TheAshleydyson Actually, it's because the exact title was "Fire Department City of New York" which was chartered in the State of New York in 1798. It was then called the Metropolitan Fire Department until 1870, when the original name "Fire Department City of New York" was reinstated. It was never legally NYFD at any time in our history, and had nothing to do with being mistaken for NYPD. Hope that explains it.

  • Nice! Very nice! WTG FDNY!

  • @iceolated75 thank you

  • @saints360row because from a far NYPD and NYFD can be confused ;) hope this helps

  • Why is is FDNY and not NYFD?

  • @04medic Because if you look at most NYC firehouses they have sidewalks running in front of them that the trucks must cross to get into the street. the firefighters walk out to make sure that no one walks in front of one those trucks. Have a look at some other videos and you'll see that even with lights and sirens plenty of people still try to cut in front of the trucks as they are prepping to leave.

  • why do the trucks pull out in front of the house and stop while everyone comes out and climbs in the truck?

  • Is Benetados still with ladder 1?

  • @X0n3 /E7 L 1 uptown manhattan

  • let's run some red lights - ghostbusters

  • @confranman In my opinion nothing compares to New Yorks Firefighters

  • @pabullrider08 definately no strippers, i would definately remembe that

  • @pabullrider08 the bar we went to was near maddison sq garden

  • @MuffinMan051495 They get in after is leaves the station so they hold back vehicles and pedestrians as the truck pulls out, and then they jump in.

  • @confranman mustang sally's is in danville, pa and its a strip club

  • Yes this was featured in the Naudet doc.

  • looks like the fire station was used in gostbusters

  • Do you know what Battalion 1 needs?

    More lights!! :)

  • @MuffinMan051495 they go outside to help and make sure traffic is stopped right first. Then they get on.

  • is it fdny protocal to get in the truck after it pulls out of the station?
